Britney Spears Grooming Son To Become NFL Player?
Is Britney Spears grooming her 13-year-old son Sean to become an NFL player? That’s the claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can exclusively set the record straight.
According to OK!, the singer believes her teenage son “has what it takes to be the next Tom Brady” and is actively trying to turn him into a future NFL star. An alleged insider tells the magazine, “Britney’s pouring thousands of dollars into private lessons and has even hired a former pro football player to coach him after school.” Only, the outlet fails to mention the identity of this “former pro football player,” and it’s always a red flag when a story lacks details. Still, the questionable source adds, “Britney’s constantly taking pictures of him on the field for her photo album. She’s convinced he’s going to be a star.”
Gossip Cop, however, checked in with a source close to Spears, who tells us on the condition of anonymity that the tabloid’s story is “incorrect.” In fact, Spears told People magazine in May that she actually worries about her son playing football. “It’s so funny because he’s kind of tiny so I worry about them being out there with all their gear and all that kind of stuff ’cause they actually tackle each other,” she told the publication. “To me, he’s still a baby so I’m like ‘Please stop!’”
Spears frequently attends her son’s football games and obviously supports his hobby, but it seems she’s still somewhat averse to him participating in such a physical sport. The fact that she’s expressed concern about the boy’s participation in the game discredits the idea that she’s campaigning for him to play professionally. The magazine’s article is simply fabricated.
Meanwhile, OK! has already proven to have very little insight into the singer’s personal life. Back in May 2017, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for publishing a cover story claiming that Spears was pregnant with Sam Asghari’s baby after the two secretly got married in Hawaii. It’s now quite clear that neither of those things happened.
Last December, the tabloid forgot all about that phony story and made up another one about Spears and Asghari getting married in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve. That never happened either. It’s clear the unreliable outlet just makes up new narratives as it goes along. This latest one about Spears’ son becoming an NFL player is similarly bogus.
